Just thought that some might be interested to see the coins which are now collectors items. They were cast (and not minted) in sterling silver and produced by members of the Muslim community then living in South London. There were 3 denominations, 1 dinar at 20 grams (but the actual finished product actually weighed around 15 grams ) and a a 10g (half) and a 5g (quarter). This coin was launched at the same time and same event as the Spanish community launched their own silver dirham coin made of fine silver.

It is estimated that collectors will pay around £150 for this coin.
